The weave

Vincent Sheppard has the patent for Lloyd Loom weave, and they choose to have the weave made in Indonesia in an integrated warehouse. Because the weave requires the highest standard of skill, each member of their Indonesian team is an experienced craftsman. In fact, Indonesia is acknowledged as the global authority for this type of intricate weaving work.

The Lloyd Loom weave is made from twisted Kraft paper as the weft, and Kraft paper spun around a steel wire as the warp. Kraft paper is machine made, mostly from wood pulp, which makes it very durable. The product is woven just like textiles, but the Loom sheets are submerged in glue before being cut to size.

The specialists expertly shape the Loom sheets and then staple them by hand to rattan or wooden frames. The finish is smooth and appealing.

Each product is then painted, from the wide selection of colours available making it a highly sought-after product to perfectly complement spaces.
